Ubwite Mission House recently undertook a significant visit to the Kabwe Correctional Facility, driven by our unwavering commitment to provide support, compassion, and dignity to vulnerable communities. This outreach was more than a gesture, it was a step toward deepening partnerships and building sustainable support systems, particularly for circumstantial children and their mothers within the facility.
The visit was conducted in collaboration with the Prisoner Reintegration and Empowerment Organisation (PREO) and Kalumbila, two partners who share our heart for justice, restoration, and holistic care.
The mission aimed to:
- Strengthen Partnerships: We engaged in open dialogue with facility officials, caregivers, and stakeholders to foster stronger relationships that can lead to more impactful and consistent support.
- Establish Support Programs: One of our key priorities was laying the groundwork for new initiatives that will address the unique needs of circumstantial children, those born or living with their mothers in incarceration. Our vision is to provide not only physical needs such as nutrition and hygiene essentials, but also emotional, educational, and spiritual support.
- Bring Dignity and Hope: Through prayer, encouragement, and tangible gifts, we reminded the mothers and children that they are not forgotten. They remain part of a larger family that believes in their value and potential.
As Ubwite Mission House, we are committed to being a channel of God’s love and restoration in places that are often overlooked. This visit to Kabwe is only the beginning of a long-term commitment to advocate for the voiceless and extend mercy where it’s needed most.
We are grateful to PREO, Kalumbila, and all supporters who made this mission possible. Together, we are planting seeds of hope and transformation that will bear fruit for generations to come.
